On Wednesday Dec 13 we will be presenting at the VSB Standing Committee II to ask some questions to the VSB. The agenda can be found under the CTTEE II tab on:
www.vsb.bc.ca/meetings/agendas/meeting-agendas-current
On December 13th Laurier PAC attended the VSB Standing Committee II Planning and Facilities meeting and presented the following brief and presentation.
Most of the trustees had questions for us, and there was also discussion later in the meeting as there was a related agenda item.
It was clear that safety of students and staff is a priority.
We learned that the weekly high level meeting between the VSB and the City had just been set up.
There was a comment that any garden box damage would fall under vandalism; no preventative steps were suggested.
There was also a question about current buffer zones and the answer was they are around some vendors but not residences.
A trustee asked the staffers a question about information flow. The answer seems to be that policy things should go through the principal but we could send facilities questions directly - we were given email contacts.
David Green also talked about getting together to help shape the terms of reference for the CAC
There is as yet no information on the required community conversation.
