What is a Parent Advisory Council (PAC)?A PAC is the officially recognized collective voice of parents at their school. Through elected officers, a PAC may advise the school board, principal, and staff on matters related to the school, except those assigned to the School Planning Council (SPC).
PACs serve as forums for parents to discuss issues affecting the school and the education of their children. (Source: BCCPAC) |
What is a PAC Meeting?
The PAC listens to parents in the school and discusses issues of importance to Laurier families in order to best advise those who influence the school (ex. Principal, staff, or Board). A PAC meeting is when we meet with each other (parents), Administration and occasional guest speakers regarding any matter relating to the school.
PAC meetings are held monthly and are for planning, learning, communicating, laughing and voting to keep everything moving through the school year. Your attendance makes for a successful meeting and questions and suggestions are always welcome. Child care is provided for free in our Spare Time room. Note: The PAC does NOT discuss individual students/staff problems or conflicts.
