Read-a-Thon 2025 - Thank you
Many thanks to all our students, Laurier families, parent volunteers, our Principal Ms. Geri, our Teacher Librarian Ms. Altman, Laurier teachers and staff who all helped out and made the Read-a-Thon a HUGE success! A special note of thanks to all our parent volunteers (Debra (Organizer), Margaret, Miriam, Yates, Katy, Florence, and Aly) who helped tallying 212 Read-a-Thon recording sheets and pledge forms. This event would not have happened without your support! Again congratulations to our top readers and top fundraisers!
Parents, if you are interested in volunteering at PAC's next community event, hot lunch, and fundraisers, let us know at [email protected]. We would love to have you join us to make a positive difference in your child's journey at Laurier Elementary.
April was Read-a-Thon month!
Our contest was open to all students in Grades K to 7. Congrats to all our readers! A huge thanks to our sponsors who stepped up to support our students and our school with pledges to the tune of $20,082 that will help us continue to support new valuable materials and various activities for student learning. (It’s not too late to donate in support of your reader: Just e-transfer donations to [email protected] to donate.)
Congratulations to our top readers school wide, who each will receive an awesome prize from the display case outside the library. Collectively our readers read for over 240,957 minutes (over 4015 hours)

Dear Parents and Students, Exciting news! Laurier is hosting its 1st -ever Read-A-Thon!
A read-a-thon is a fundraising event where students read to gather pledges or donations from family and friends for the school. It’s like reading with a purpose! The funds raised will enrich student learning with valuable materials.
This event not only benefits our school but is also incredibly rewarding for our kids! It offers a wonderful chance for our children to take pride in their contributions. We encourage you to assist your child in setting and achieving their goals, fostering both academic growth and a sense of accomplishment.
